Bowlers dominated the December 17 round of the Guyana Softball League Carib Beer sponsored softball cricket tournament as several teams recorded victories.
In the results from the zones:
WEST COAST ZONE: Leonora Primary School Ground:
Zeeburg Youths XI defeated Rangers Youths SC by massive 112 runs:
Zeeburg Youths XI won the toss and batted first scoring 204 -9 in 15 overs (Ronald Kellowan 71; Omal Singh 68; Abdul Mansoor 3-20 from 3 overs) In reply Rangers Youths made 91-8 in 15 overs (Arvin Seepersaud 6-20 from 3 overs including a hat-trick)
Uitvlugt Youths “B” Team defeated Ruimzeight SC by 28 runs:
Uitvlugt Youths “B” won the toss and batted first scoring 86 all out in 10 overs (Sanjay Willie 17; Ganesh Singh 4-1 off 1 over which included a hat-trick) In reply Ruimzeight SC made 58=8 in 15 overs (Ganesh Singh 16; Nandaram Ramsammy 4-15 off 3 overs).
Uitvlugt CC “A” Team playing unbeaten so far defeated Leonora Youths by 7 wkts:
Leonora Youths batted first and scored 90 all out in 14 overs (Nikash Singh 30; Feroz Kadir 4-10 from 3 overs).

Hyde Park got the better of Bonasika XI by 8 runs:
Hyde Park SC batted first and scored 80-6 in 15 overs (Ejaz Mohamed 22; Albert Kennard 3-10 from 3 overs) In reply Bonasika XI were bundled out for 52 in 9.3 overs (Ashim Mohamed 4-20 from 3 overs).
Hyde Park got a walkover from Young Challengers.
EAST COAST ZONE: OGLE GROUND: Pitch # 1:
Rockets XI destroyed John Cena XI by 7 wkts:
John Cena XI batted first and scored 106 all out in 14.5 overs (Vishal Maniram 34; Chris Morton 3-20 from 3 overs) In reply Rockets XI made 112-3 in 9.4 overs (Rohan Tappin 45).
Gas XI made light work of Rockets XI in their second match by 4 wkts:
Rockets XI won the toss and batted first scoring 131 all out in 13.1 overs (Ronald Tappin 89 (5×6; 3×4); Mark Singh 3-20 from 3 overs) In reply Gas XI made 137-6 in 12.3 overs (Nadir Baksh 60 not out; Vicky Ramsaywack 3-22 from 3 overs).
Gas XI (in their second match) playing unbeaten for the day defeated Keshan XI by 3 wkts:
Keshan XI batted first and scored 162 all out in 14.5 overs (Kerwin Bacchus 50; Mark Singh 2-4 from 1 over) In reply Gas XI made 166-7 in 12.3 overs (Doodnauth Sharma 40; Bharat Singh 2-20 from 3 overs).

Trophy Stall XI (in their second match) continued their winning ways by defeated Young Eagles XI by 11 runs:
Trophy Stall XI batted first and scored 181-8 15 overs (Mark Harold 49; Somal Mangal 4-18 from 3 overs) In reply Young Eagles XI made 170 all out in 14.2 overs (Chris Patadin 69’ Ravi Ramnauth 3-18 from 3 overs).
Hitters XI whipped Ogle under-19 XI (in their second match) by 62 runs:
Hitters XI batted first and scored 203 – 5 in 15 overs (Anand Rampersaud 49; Kevin Seeram 2-30 from 3 overs) in reply Ogle under-19 XI could only muster 141 all out in 14.5 overs (Deon Thomas 51; Sunil Ganesh 2-20 from 2 overs).

Die Hard XI defeated Affiance “A” Team by 6 wkts:
Affiance “A” Team won the toss and batted scoring 178-8 in 15 overs (Ryan Mc Call 39; Latchman Rohit 26;Yassir Mohamed 3-24 from 3 overs; Patrick Rooplall 2-32 from 3 overs) In reply Die Hard XI made 180 – 4 in 13.2 overs (Sunil Deodat 47;Patrick Rooplall 31; Ganesh Mangal 2-37 from 3 overs).

El Dorado Ground:
Young Warriors defeated El Dorado by 5 wkts:
El Dorado batted first and scored 106 all out in 14.5 overs (Mohinder Amin 24; Pradeep Babulall 3-18 from 3 overs) In reply Young Warriors made 110 – 5 in 10 overs (Clyde Walcott 71; Davendra Singh 2-18 from 3 overs).
Young Rivals gained a walkover from Airy Hall CC.
AT POMENA Ground:
Rebel United made light work of Young Rivals by 9 wkts:
No matches were played due to the consistent rain in the Linden and Leguan zones.
The competition has been put on hold for the holidays and will resume the 1st weekend in January 2010.
