Proprietor of the Trophy Stall in Bourda Market, Ramesh Sunich, has continued a tradition he has kept for over 20 years, that is to sponsor the trophy for the best jockey.
Tomorrow’s Kennard memorial Turf Club Boxing Day Meet at their Bush Lot Farm Corentyne racetrack is no different.
Sunich this week presented the trophy to Justice Cecil Kennard for the champion jockey of tomorrow’s meet.
This tradition is in honour of Sunich’s father Neville, now deceased, who was a jockey who plied his trade on these shores before migrating.
Tomorrow’s action is expected to be keenly contested with most of the country’s racehorses in action. All eyes will be set on the main event sponsored by the Kharag family for C class horses. Digicel and DDL are also among the sponsors for the main supporting races.
