Two men who allegedly raped a woman were remanded on Monday by Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson. But one of the men claimed that he never saw the woman who is making the allegation against him.
Winston Adams, 43, of 303 North East LaPenitence, and Noel Cromwell, 39, of 26 Dowding Street, Kitty were the accused.
It is alleged between December 12 and December 14, last the two had sex with a woman without her consent. They were not required to plead to the indictable charge. Adams was represented by attorney at law Adrian Thompson.
Thompson, in an application for bail for his client said that his client is innocent of the charges and wants to vigorously defend himself.
Thompson added that his client was picked up by the police in a car on patrol, with the other defendant in the car. He said that his client was not identified by the woman making the allegation and added that he does not even know what the woman looks like.
However, Magistrate Robertson refused to grant the two accused bail. They are to return to court on December 30.
