The much anticipated Main Big lime on December 26, which starts from 10 hours and continues until 23:00 hours, would be attracting the services of private security, the police and city constables.
Public and private partnerships would make for a successful and well organized event since thousands of visitors are expected in the country and security is a cause for concern, according to Minister of Tourism Manniram Prashad.
He said that Guyana is at the head of the tourism list of destinations, ahead of Jamaica, Cuba and Saba.
He added that various booths would be on the western side of Main Street. Ansa McAl would be occupying the circle that was previously taken by DDL and the commercial entities such as Courts and New Thriving with the assistance of Ministry of Tourism would be expected to light up the surroundings, including the trees.
According to Minister Prashad preparations would be made to separate the big booths such as Hits and Jams, DDL and Ansa McAl.
