One man escaped with minor injuries after his vehicle was one involved in a four-vehicle accident that included the Finance Minister’s vehicle.
The accident occurred at the junction of Avenue of the Republic and Robb Street. The vehicles involved in the accident were PJJ 6568 used by Finance Minister Dr. Ashni Singh; PJJ6050, PLL3709 and PHH 9723.
According to reports Finance Minister Dr. Ashni Singh was in Parliament at the time of the accident. He had ordered his driver to pick up something for him at his Ministry.
According to an eyewitness the Minister’s vehicle was speeding north on Avenue of the Republic. A the same time, PJJ 6050 was heading east on Robb Street. They collided. The eyewitness said that the Minister’s vehicle trying to avoid the collision, swerved and hit the other two cars which were parked on Avenue of the Republic.
“All I hear is blam and the Minister vehicle was eating up the back of them two car,” the eyewitness said.
This accident is of the many that involved government vehicles for the year. It also follows one that resulted in the death Minister Desrey Fox whose car was slammed by an ambulance.
