Owner of the Ocean View International Hotel, Wilfred Rambaran, has secured an injunction against its receiver, Courtney Perry, and the Guyana National Co-operative Bank, restraining them from selling the property and its lands.
The order was made Tuesday when the application came up before Justice Rishi Persaud at the Commercial Court.
The Hotel, facing financial difficulties, has been placed into receivership.
According to the order, plaintiffs Rambaran and Ocean View, applied for the ex-parte injunction via an Affidavit for Interim Orders.
According to the Judge’s order, it is “directed that an injunction be and is hereby granted restraining the Second Defendant (Perry) by himself, his servants and/or agents or otherwise however from selling or disposing of the commercial property of the Second Plaintiff (Ocean View) compromising land, buildings and erections and total assets at Liliendaal, East Coast Demerara as advertised in the Sunday Chronicle of December 6th, 2009.”
The matter comes up again for hearing on December 22.
