Three armed gunmen terrorized and robbed several staffers of Sheik Hassan’s Printery around 19:00 hrs last night, after holding up the lone security guard and entering the Eccles Industrial Site property.
Kaieteur News understands that the invaders relieved the staffers of cash and personal belongings. However it is unclear whether anything from the printery was stolen.
According to reports, the employees were in the printery when three men entered the unlocked gate while a fourth man remained outside.
An eyewitness said that the men then spoke briefly to the 55-year-old security guard, who asked them to leave.
The eyewitness said that he saw the guard escorting the men out of the compound.
However, the source said that he then saw the men and the guard turn back and head further into the compound.
The men reportedly exited the compound several minutes later and departed on foot.
The eyewitness said that he had no idea that a robbery had occurred until several police ranks arrived at the scene.
Company officials who visited the premises after being informed of the robbery declined to comment.
