Suriname females here to win as they too prepare for Regional and Int’l duties
The Suriname female national team and their management staff take time out for a photo yesterday at the Ocean View International Hotel.
Vice President of the Suriname Women’s Soccer Association Mario Renfurm confidently stated that they are here to win the Friendly International tournament organised by the Guyana Football Federation featuring local and USA based Guyana teams.
Speaking yesterday at the Ocean View International Hotel, Renfurm disclosed that the team has been in training for a number of weeks and he is expecting them to do well. All the players he stated are based in Suriname and two of them were part of the Inter Guiana Games team which outplayed both Guyana and French Guiana earlier this year at the Camp Ayangana ground. Renfurm said they do not know anything about the Guyana team and will not be taking anything for granted when they face the USA based side today at the Enmore Community Centre ground in their first game.
Coach Vorswijk Johan who is coaching the team for the first time said that they too, like Guyana is preparing for Olympic and World Cup Qualifying next month and he is very happy for this tournament which will help them assess where they are going into the qualifying games.
