Republic Bank (Guyana) Limited recently held a number of Christmas parties for thousands of needy children countrywide.
The bank has been involved in charitable ventures of various kinds.
In Berbice, the New Amsterdam Branch for a second year hosted a party for children of two orphanages at its office at Strand and New Street. Over 80 children of the Anjuman Orphanage in Philadelphia Street, New Amsterdam and the Children of Praise Orphanage in Vryman’s Erven, New Amsterdam, were fêted. The children were each given gifts, a meal and had an opportunity to take photographs with Santa Claus.
Branch Manager Imran Sacoor, speaking to Kaieteur News, said that the initiative is part of the bank’s way of helping the less fortunate, and as a cooperate entity, it is always in their purview to give back to society in whatever way possible.
