It was a jam-packed house filled with the Christmas spirit as the Salvation Army held its annual Christmas Hamper Distribution at the Georgetown Citadel Corps on Monday.
The theme was ‘Sharing is Caring’ and present were special guest speaker Mrs. Amanda St Aubyn, Country Manager\Scotiabank and Mr. Edward Boyer, Advisory Board Chairman. The divisional leaders were Majors Sinous and Marie Theodore.
Major Sinous Theodore said that Christmas is the time for giving and the Salvation Army intensifies the tradition especially in December when each Sunday donation is given to various homes. This act brings much joy to the recipient.
According to Edward Boyer he can’t give as much as he wants to but would always give and contribute to the Salvation Army where he has a past of profound memories, since the Salvation Army is a charitable organisation.
According to Amanda St Aubyn it’s a privilege to get involved and partner with the Salvation Army to help the needy since the organisation does excellent work to extend happiness to others.
