A 23-year-old pump attendant employed at an East Bank Demerara filling station has apparently decided to present himself a $500,000 Christmas gift.
The only trouble is that the ‘bonus’ belongs to the man’s employer, and the ‘bonus boy’ is likely to spend the festive season behind bars if the police catch up with him. According to reports, the pump attendant and another employee were on duty at around 23:00 hrs on Monday, when he collected a large sum of cash from a ‘bulk sale.’ Along with that, the man collected a further $100,000 from the other pump attendant.
However, instead of turning the cash over, the pump attendant promptly walked off the job.
He has not been seen since.
Police, who were informed of the theft, have reportedly been making checks at Linden, where the missing pump attendant resides.
