The various winners of the fund raising raffle, organized by the Guyana Association of Scrabble Players (GASP) approximately one month ago to facilitate Abigail McDonald’s trip to the World Scrabble Championships in Malaysia recently, will collect their respective prizes at the prize giving ceremony scheduled for Courts Main Street office starting at 09:00hrs this morning.
Representatives of the various sponsors along with the winners would be on hand at the short ceremony.
At the official drawing staged at the same venue, T. Daniels is the winner of the grand prize of one 6 cubic feet refrigerator donated by the furniture giants, while B. Narine won the second prize of one X Box 360. L. Shaw walked away with the third prize of a Citizen’s Eco Drive watch donated by King’s Jewelry World, Quamina Street, Georgetown.
A total of twelve lucrative prizes were at stake and indeed twelve persons are well off for having participated in the fund raising venture. The other 9 lucky players are: David R Bacchus (overnight trip for two to Baganara Resorts); Abdool & Abdool Insurance (one bird phone); Dr Mangru ($20,000 worth of books compliments of Austin’s Book Store); Henry Rahaman (MP3 Player); Myron Debarros (DVD Player); Glen Hanoman (one food hamper); Veneva Heywood (dinner for two at Windjammer Hotel and Restaurant); Mortimer Richards (one pressure cooker) and Davindra Persaud (one trapper keeper). Executives of GASP wish to extend heartfelt gratitude to the sponsors of the prizes and all those that supported the fund raising drive to facilitate McDonald’s journey.
