… Despite being sacked from OP
General Secretary of the People’s Progressive Party Donald Ramotar says that Navin Chanderpaul has not been relieved from any position that he holds in the leadership of the party.
This, despite Chanderpaul’s sacking from the Office of the President as Science and Environmental Advisor to the President.
When asked his opinion on the sacking, Ramotar said that he was not familiar with the details of what has transpired given that he had recently returned from the African continent, namely the country of Angola, adding, “I think you’re directing the questions at the wrong person.”
The PPP General Secretary did point out that Chanderpaul is held in high esteem by the party adding that he is a longstanding stalwart and he remains in the leadership of the party.
The former Government minister is also a key figure in the Executive and Central committees of the PPP.
