It was not an intentional act but based on information provided to this newspaper an article was published on October 13, last suggesting some level of bad dealings on the part of Trudy Scott and Kenneth Simmons.
The two are representatives of the Region Ten Tourism Development Association (RTDA), which is located in the LEAP Building, Republic Avenue, McKenzie, Linden.
Rance Allicock, Toshoa of Rockstone, in the article said that “the community (Rockstone) had problems of accountability and transparency with the RTDA which was a part of the planning committee and was responsible for the finances of the activity…”
A letter from the Legal AID Centre Incorporated said that the statement made in the article not only seeks to defame the two representatives but their organisation which is non-profit in nature and requires funding to be sustained.
Hence Kaieteur News seeks to extend profound apology for any inaccuracies published in the report.
