In keeping with the spirit of giving at this time of the year, Courtney Benn Contracting Services Limited (CBCSL) made a tangible donation to the elderly yesterday.
The Palms was the recipient of 25 hampers that included bath sets and other personal effects.
According to Cheryl Noel, Secretary of CBCSL, each hamper is worth over $6,000.The donation was made after her company was approached by the management of the Palms for the assistance.
She said that the assistance was even more notable since it was made to the elderly at Christmas.
In accepting the hampers on behalf of the Palms, physiotherapist Akhilanand Raghunandan, said that the items will serve the institution well since they will bring further comfort to citizens who once toiled for their country.
He said that most of the items will go towards those who are ill and are in greater need. He was high in praise for the benevolence shown by CBCSL and said that such a donation indicates that the donor is not only in the business of collecting but they are willing to give to the poor and needy.
