The remaining action in the Mayor’s birthday football tournament has been postponed to a date early next year. Executive Coordinator Lennox Arthur informed Kaieteur Sport via a release that they have been forced to rescheduled the quarters, semis and final which were scheduled for today and Friday at the Tucville ground.
The release informed that many of the teams needed to up their preparation for the upcoming Kashif and Shanghai tourney and they Mayor’s Cup Committee felt it necessary to allow the teams time for adequate preparation for the major yearend extravaganza.
The organisers expressed regret for any inconvenience caused to the fans, but assured that competitive action can be expected when these games are eventually held. They are also offering Merry Christmas wishes and a prosperous New Year to all Guyana.
