The Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company (GT&T) yesterday scored a major goal with the Kashif and Shanghai (K&S) Organization when they handed over a cheque for 2.5 Million Dollars.
Making the presentation to K&S Director Aubrey ‘Shanghai’ Major was GT&T’s Marketing Officer Ms. Abena Fung who noted her company’s delight. “Over the year’s GT&T has given continuous support to what is probably the single largest sporting event in Guyana.”
The tournament, which has attracted 20 teams for the 20th Anniversary, Fung said, provides clean and wholesome entertainment for the entire Guyanese society and the opportunity for players to showcase their talent.
“We continue to see improvement in the standard of the tournament over the years and it is only fitting that GT&T continue to support and urge the organizers to continue striving for excellence.”
Ms. Fung also congratulated the tournament host for securing King Pele as Special Guest of Honour noting that it is indeed an historical moment for Guyana.
Aubrey ‘Shanghai’ Major expressed his organization’s pleasure with GT&T Cellink being on board again noting that their contribution is vital to the overall budget in making Special Guest of Honour King Pele’s visit a success.
He also lauded the company for its continued partnership with the organization while highlighting that their unflinching support has undoubtedly contributed towards the overall success of the competition.
