The Guyana Bank of Trade Industry and Commerce Limited, on Thursday at its Water Street branch made financial donations to seven charitable organisations. The donation is that of an annual contribution made by the bank to assist the organisations in furthering their work.
The organisations which benefited from the donations were Uncle Eddies Home, Central Islamic Organisations of Guyana, David Rose School for the Handicapped, Dharam Shala – Benevolent Home for all Races, Guyana Red Cross Society, The Periwinkle Club and Guyana Society for the Blind.
Receiving the donations for the respective organisations were Ms. Denise Boodie, Ms. Attiyah Baksh, Ms. June Herod, Ms Pamela Ramsaroop, MS. Kerry Singh, Dr. Wallace Best- Plummer and Mr. Cecil Morris.
Assistant Manager – Research and Planning, Sean Noel, at the presentation, stated that the donations demonstrate how seriously the bank takes its responsibility as a corporate entity. He added that GBTI is pleased to assist the organisations in a very tangible way to carry out their various programmes and realise their objectives.
Mrs. Dahana Ramijist, Marketing and Public Relations Officer of GBTI, congratulated the various charitable organisations for their commitment to taking care of the less fortunate and those in need of support.
She also thanked the organisations for accepting the contributions which should assist them in conducting their mandate.
At the presentation, the winners of the GBTI Prime Life Club Competition, Mohamed Kassim and Joan Alleyne, also received their prizes. They both won trips to Trinidad and Tobago.
