Police investigators are now certain that whoever murdered actor Joel Fraser did so from behind him.
This was revealed during a post mortem examination which indicated that Fraser died from an incisive wound to the throat. The actor was discovered with his throat slit on the Liliendaal Seawall last Wednesday morning by joggers. Although police had detained and questioned several persons in connection with the murder, they have not yet come up with any motive.
A woman and her daughter were detained after she gave conflicting accounts of her association with the murdered actor.
According to a source, detectives had also questioned a taxi driver who indicated that he frequently dropped the woman and her daughter home after she was finished selling in the Bourda Market. The taxi driver said that Fraser would normally hitch a ride with them and would come off near the Ocean View International Hotel. According to the taxi driver, on the night before he died, he did not see Fraser or the market vendor.
A statement was taken from him and he was subsequently released.
When police contacted the woman she reportedly contradicted the taxi driver’s story. She told investigators that she had the same arrangement with the taxi driver on Tuesday night and had dropped off Fraser at the usual point at Liliendaal.
Investigators have been trying to make contact with another female acquaintance of the murdered actor, since they believe that she could provide them with vital information surrounding his death.
Police believe that Fraser visited another female at the Liliendaal location and they are now looking for that woman. Sources close to the investigation told Kaieteur News that Fraser might have been in a compromising position just before he was killed since there were physical signs to support this.
Meanwhile, a post mortem examination performed on the body of 29-year-old Natasha Fraser, revealed that she died from a heart attack.
Fraser died last Saturday night while in bed with her male partner. The partner who was detained after her death has since been released.
