Police have detained a 29-year-old Turkeyen resident following the sudden death of his girlfriend.
Reports are that the woman, Natasha Fraser, 30, of La Bonne Intention, East Coast Demerara, died at the Georgetown Public Hospital hours after she passed out in the man’s company.
The dead woman’s sister Abiola Nero told this newspaper that sometime after 22:00 hours on Saturday her sister’s partner alerted her that her sister had passed out on their bed.
“We were having a little get together at the back of the yard and I see he run outside and call me and all he tell me was come see what happen to Natasha,” the woman recalled.
She added that when she went into the house she saw her sister lying nude on the bed in an unconscious state.
Nero said she immediately dressed her sister and took her to the hospital.
“Even when we were putting on her clothes we were talking to her but she wasn’t responding so we took her to the hospital and early this morning the police called us and told us that she dead,” the woman added.
Meanwhile, according to Nero’s relative, they are not speculating as they would rather wait on the results of a post mortem.
The woman’s relatives stated that they have no reason to suspect any foul play but they are baffled at her sudden demise.
Relatives said the only medical complaint Fraser had was hypertension and she was a regular visitor to the Hypertension clinic. This newspaper was also told that the woman never had a history of fainting.
One relative said when she saw Fraser her entire face was ‘dark blue’ which was strange but maintained that “we aint went deh so we aint know wha happen”.
Up to press time yesterday the dead woman’s partner was still in police custody assisting with investigations.
