Berbice Under-15 allrounder Kevin Ramdeen registered the best match bowling figures so far in the 2009 Leslie Amsterdam Memorial Under-17 Cricket Competition to help his team Rose Hall Community Centre advance to the quarter-finals.
In their final Zone D preliminary match Rose Hall had posted a first innings score of 138 for 7 declared against Seawell, Ramdeen bowling off spin took 7 for 14 and 7 for 29 (match figures of 14 for 43) to be mainly responsible for Seawell being routed for 58 and 65 in their two innings.
This win left Rose Hall Community Centre at the top of the Zone thus earning their place in the quarter-finals.
Vedesh Lall (69), Beesham Deolall (52 N.O), Sasenarine Ernest (48) and Mahendra Veerasammy (47) were the ones responsible for Port Mourant amassing 304 for 5 in their first innings against Kennard’s Memorial.
They however rued not declaring earlier as after bowling out Kennard’s for 82 in their first innings, they were unable to wrap up the second innings, with Kennard’s holding on to be 43 for 9 at the close, denying them the outright win even though pacer George Hughes took 6 for 17 from 8 overs.

At Rose hall in Canje, Rose Hall Community Centre beat Seawell by an innings and 15 runs. Rose Hall Community Centre 1st innings 138 with Kirk Jhettoo 26, Kevin Balkarran 4 for 27, Devendra Jainabi 3 for 34. Seawell 1st innings 58 with Kevin Ramdeen 7 for 14 and 2nd innings 65 with Devendra Jainabi 27, Kevin Ramdeen 7 for 29, Udesh Imrit 3 for 26.
At Port Mourant, Port Mourant took first innings points from Kennard’s Memorial in their drawn match. Port Mourant 1st innings 304 for 5 declared with Vedesh Lall 69, Beesham Deolall 52 N.O, Sasenarine Ernest 48, Mahendra Veerasammy 47, Karamchand Mahaballi 35, Hemchand Kallo 30, Karamchand Ramnarine 2 for 92. Kennard’s Memorial 1st innings 82 with Ricky Permaul 38, Andrea Khan 3 for 21, Beesham Deolall 2 for 8, Jason Jerrick 2 for 11, George Hughes 2 for 28 and 2nd innings 43 for 9 with George Hughes 6 for 17, Sasenarine Ernest 2 for 0.
