First race meeting billed for Sunday in Essequibo
The best Dirt-Bike riders in Guyana will prove their mettle in several race meetings when Titan Entertainment continues their Grass Track Championship Series in this new season at the Hampton Court on the Essequibo Coast, Sunday.
The Championship Series was unveiled at a press briefing Wednesday night where media operatives were taken through a programme of events. The second race meet will be held in Berbice with the final stage set for Demerara 2010.
Sunday’s meeting will consist of five professional races, four novices’ races, one featured race and open races. The professionals will pocket 10,000 for a first place finish; $7000 is the second place prize and $4000 for third place.
Meanwhile, Novices takes home $7000, $5000 and $3000 for first, second and third place finishes in their events. It was revealed that the meeting at the Kayman Sankar Ground at Hampton Court will start at midday on Sunday.
“We will have some games for the kids; motorcades for patrons to get a glimpse of all the bikes and a meet the bikers event. At the end of the series, we will give away a brand new bike to the winner,” Titan’s Sheik Yaseen said.
The promoter indicated that the entertainment company is attempting to bring a new idea of incorporating entertainment and the sport. He said that the Series will be a one of kind event with unmatched excitement and thrills.
“Titan Entertainment is a new company that is trying to bring a better and bigger vibes to Grass Track Racing. We are not just the ordinary entertainment group, we want to do lots of things,” Corporate Secretary, Candasha Mohamed noted.
The promoters also unveiled some of the Grass Track Rules and those Grass Track Safety Measures at the launch.
There is an entrance fee attached for adults ($500.00) and children above 12 years old ($300.00) for Sunday’s initiation of the Series.
