(Flashback) – This is what it will look like come Sunday December 6, at the Goed Fortuin Community Centre ground - riders under starter’s orders.
Come Sunday, December 6, the Goed Fortuin Community Centre ground will come alive when First Gear Promotions presents Round Two of its ten-event series which will see most of the country’s top grass track riders square off against each other on a day anticipated to showcase the talent of local dirt racing.
Intense rivalry is expected in the professional, novice and chappy categories among them being current point’s leader Andrew Wong, Vassy Barry, Andy Rajkarran, Dave Gangadin and Stephen Vieira.
The first round was held at the Ogle Community Centre ground last month where fans saw the coming out of two fairly young riders who topped the points table in the professional and novices’ categories.
Wong of the Red Earth Riders Club from Bartica emerged atop the points table in the professional category with 20 points and he is followed closely by veterans Andy Rajkarran 17, Charlie Henry 15 and Vassy Barry 14.
Junior Da Silva, 17 years of age, riding grass track for the first time dominated the novice category claiming three victories in as many races to lead with 30 points.
Raj Rajkarran, Andy’s younger brother and Ravi Singh are distant 16 and 10 points behind respectively.
Meanwhile, the riders from the Biker Boys Club of Enterprise failed to impress, but have vowed to make amends.
In the chappy category, Zalim Mohamed and Satesh Singh made light work of their opponents.
