Arif Ishak of Belvedere Superstar became the latest centurion in the New Building Society (NBS) Berbice 2nd division 40 overs cricket competition, slamming 146 against Albion Front Shockers.
Ishak’s knock which consisted of 14 fours and 8 sixes is the highest score in the competition so far as and helped his team to 230 all out in 35.5 overs. When Albion Front Shockers responded, leg-spinner Asif Kamaludin took 5-20 to bowl them out for 116.
Off-spinner Bheem Singh grabbed 7-13 from 6 overs for No. 70 Lalman as No. 64 Young Warriors fell for 72, Lalman winning the contest by 9 wickets.
Aubrey Collins’ unbeaten 58 assisted Kildonan to 164-7 with Ramesh Ayana taking 5-26. Ayana returned to hit 81 to help Yakusari Carib to 167-7
Other batsmen scoring half centuries were Andrew Joynauth of Shieldstown, Thomas George of Kennard’s Memorial, Trevor Poonai of No. 68 Turn Team and the No. 69 Vikings pair of Virvasha Ramdharry and Wazir Ally.
Hemnauth Ramsaroop of No. 68 Turn Team, Pradeep Singh of Unity, Derick Jamisay of Strykers and Kumash Ramkissoon of Night Eyes bagged 5-wicket hauls.
