Dear Editor,
I was out of the country from 24th of October to the 15th of November, so when I returned I did some catching up on the local news and I learned of the three young women who apparently took their own lives and of the youth who Was tortured by the police and about the doctor who examined the said youth with his head covered.
I then read Freddie Kissoon’s column of the 14th about the blind man and the black cat. And as such that is the column I have decided to write about.
Freddie is insinuating that the PPP was the party that arranged the destruction of the launch, Son Chapman and the death of eight members of the Abrams family by fire in 1963
I read the terrorist report, better known as plan X 13 of the sixties complied by two senior police officers and no way is the PPP leadership mentioned as part of any terrorist plot in that report and at that time even though the PPP was in political office, the security force then was anti PPP and as Joslyn Hubbard told me then “comrade you know the PPP only has to pass one corner from the police station and it is dragged in”.
I remember when I discussed the Abrams matter with the late C.F. Torrezao, the then chief inspector of the RSPCA, who was not known to be a PPP sympathizer. He said he did not believe the PPP had anything to do with it. Since, if the security force could have found a shred of evidence to link Cheddi Jagan or the PPP to the tragedy, they would have moved against the PPP.
Freddie it is your privilege to dislike Cheddi Jagan and the political party he led, if you so desire, but don’t give them basket to fetch water
