The Kashif and Shanghai Organisation in an effort to continue raising the bar, has awarded a one year contract to Designers House, who will be in charge of the Food, Drinks, Arts and Craft Concessions at the upcoming 20th Anniversary Tournament.
Speaking at yesterday’s press conference, Director of the Kashif and Shanghai Organisation, Kashif Muhammad, stated that the reason for going this route stemmed from last year’s final which was held at the Guyana National Stadium Providence where they had a full house.
Lots of positives came out of that initial outing at the Stadium Muhammad said but they also recognised some areas that needed to be improved and one such area was concessions.
“In terms of patrons being afforded the opportunity to access food and drinks of a high quality easily and with ease.”
Designers House, Muhammad said, approached them and had the same kind of thinking. Numerous meetings were held with the management of Designers House led by Director Marlon Williams.
“Our organisation is satisfied that Designers House will do a fantastic job. All the things that we have discussed so far seems very exciting to us and for the patrons and it’s now just left to execution.
We have a one year contract and we look forward to them satisfying customers at the tournament in a great way. Once all goes well, we already have big ideas of making it even better in terms of not just football but numerous other activities and events.”
Designers House Director Marlon Williams in announcing his company’s pleasure at being awarded the contract, disclosed that the concept behind coming up with the concession campaign was to regularise the entire system of dealing with concessionary arrangements at Kashif and Shanghai.
“When we had an incredible experience in dealing with Cricket World Cup a few years ago I thought that it would be demeaning of us to not take the standards and our initiatives, share it all across Guyana.
We approached K&S regarding the regularising of their systems for the 20th tournament and where we are.
Our intent is to ensure that vending is done in effective and efficient manner from the accreditations of vendors and their agents and employees to the regularising of vending areas to the point of ensuring that there is a sufficient variety of vendors within a given location and that they keep to high standards.
We intend to try our utmost to ensure a high standard off the bat.”
Potential vendors can uplift forms and the booth policy along with the procedures and requirements from Designers House Bagotsville Office located at the Harbour Bridge Mall or at Senvia located in Regent Street.
The deadline for uplifting forms is December 4 while the deadline for applying is December 8. All applicants will be screened according to Williams and while they must be compliant with the National Food and Drugs Department Policy including the Food Handlers Certificate, there will be room for negotiation in this inaugural venture.
