High speed chase…
The four men who were arrested after a high speed chase by police on Friday, have been positively identified as the men who committed the recent Gizmos and Gadget robbery. According to police sources, the men were picked out during an identification parade by the employees of the store. The source further told this newspaper that after the picture was published on the front page of this newspaper on Saturday, the eyewitnesses quickly contacted the police. The four men are expected to be placed before the courts.
The four were nabbed in the Tiger Bay area around 14:00 hours on Friday. Reports are that the men were driving in a car, HB 3971, on Water Street when they spotted a police vehicle. After seeing the police vehicle, the men sped north. The police gave chase and the car turned off Main Street and headed into Tiger Bay. When the chase came to an end, one of the occupants of the car quickly exited. The other three men who were in the car were ordered out and to lie on the road by the police who discharged a round in the process.
