Dear Editor,
It is with total disgust we the residents of Block X, Cornelia Ida West Coast Demerara would like to bring to the attention of the relevant authority, the constant noise nuisance affecting the area.
Some residents think it is wise to buy or build large music boxes, place it on their verandas, under their houses or under their sheds then play it not for their listening pleasure, but to annoy and disturb neighbours.
Some of them start as early as 5:30 am, and this certainly affects us since most of us are working parents who would just like a quite life.
Some of us have very young children, while others have children who are preparing for exams.
As if the residents are not doing a good enough jobs disturbing our community, a taxi service in the village do their part. Drivers of this particular taxi service, which has mostly private cars, would drive through the streets at all fancy hours in the night playing an assortment of vulgar music and have us rudely awaken from our sleep.
I think they find this rather amusing to make our windows.
How can some human beings be so inconsiderate? Several calls and reports were made to the police but it seems as these individuals are above the law, but then again the police have their own issues to deal with.
So we are not only asking, but begging the relevant authority to put an end to this madness because before long all of us might go crazy.
