Kaieteur News layout artist, Osafo King, had a most horrifying experience Tuesday night. Knife-wielding bandits stuck him up and relieved him of his car, his cellular phone, US$200 and some jewellery, while he was sitting on the Kitty seawalls in the vicinity of Celina’s Resort.
According to King it was shortly before midnight when three men walked past him. He said that some time later he saw the same men coming back, this time walking on the seawalls.
He said that he eased forward to allow them to pass when one of them placed a knife to the back of his neck. Soon after he felt another knife blade at his back.
A fellow employee, Troy Edmondson, who was with him at the time, ran away toward Celina’s to seek help and at the same time summon the police.
Help was not forthcoming because the guard there proclaimed that he was not armed and that he was not going to leave his post.
Meanwhile, others in the vicinity who witnessed the attack began to drive away. Some slumped lower in their vehicle.
King said that at the time the key was in the ignition as he was enjoying the music from his sound system. The men after robbing him sprinted to his car and escaped.
Yesterday, he found his car in Pike Street, Kitty, minus the rear lights, a front park light and the sound system.
He said that his attackers are identifiable and he hopes that the police would make an arrest.
