The 2009 New Building Society Second Division 40- Over Cricket Competition continued recently with medium pacer Satesh Dwarka of Tamarind Root of Hampshire on the Corentyne producing one of the most amazing performances in the history of second division in the ancient county if not Guyana.
He registered the best ever bowling figures at that level when he took 9 wickets from 4 runs from 6 Overs which included 3 maidens to almost single handedly skittle out Rising Star of Silean Dam, Port Mourant for a very meager 18. Tamarind Root went on to win by 8 wickets.
Led by 76 from former Berbice all rounder Anil Beharry, 52 from former Berbice under- 19 wicket keeper batsman Ishwar Singh and 41 from Charran Singh, Young Warriors were able to rack up 261 for 6 in 30 Overs against Mental Hospital. Left arm spinner Charran Singh then took 5 wickets for 12 runs from 6 Overs to see Mental being bowled out for 116 in reply with Charles Gimmond registering 56.
Steven Embrack’s 67 and Anil Armogan’s 58 helped No. 65 reach 261 in 39.9 Overs against No. 64 Young Warriors. Their teammate off spinner Chand Kumar then proceeded to take 6 for 25 from 7.1 Overs to help bowl out the Warriors for 76 in reply.
Clarence Beresford scored 61 and took 2 for 0 from 3 balls to help Scottsburg United defeat Crabwood Creek Rising by 151 runs.
