-Sukhram finishes as best female player
Vijay Deo, who started on a handicap 6 made a late burst on the final day to end the round with a low gross of 73 and a best net of 67 to cart off the Digicel Classic Golf Tournament which concluded yesterday, at the Lusignan Course.

Deo closed with an accumulated low gross of 150 and a Best Net of 138 to beat into second place Kasim Khan, who finished with a score of 139, while Lakram Ramsundar occupied the third place after registering 140.
The best ladies score went to Christine Sukhram on 147.
She also recorded the best net and gross overall scores among the females.
Avinash Persaud won the trophy for the Nearest To the Pin; Mohanlall Dinanath won the longest drive accolade, while Dr. Ram Singh registered the longest putt of the day.
In the competition for Digicel’s employees, Dillon Peters was declared the winner.
Digicel’s Donavan White speaking after the presentation ceremony extended a big thank you to the club for the welcome and appreciation offered to them over the weekend.
He said that many times, many wondered whether they would get involved in golf, adding that yesterday typified and signified their feelings and thoughts about the sport.
“We are really interested in working with the club some more to held develop and promote the sport and surely this is not the end of our relationship with them,” White promised.
He disclosed that they were delighted with the treatment that they received and commended the President and staff for a job well done over the weekend.
“On behalf of the Company, we really want to say thank you,” White concluded.
Club Captain Jerome Khan in his remarks after extending the club’s gratitude to Digicel for coming on board thanked the Bar staff, caddies and the grounds-men foe a splendid job done in ensuring that all were welcome and comforted over the two days and everyone enjoyed their hospitality.
The Lusignan Policing Group also came in for special mention.
The next tournament will be the Guyana Open which is scheduled to commence this weekend.
