The members of the Ann’s Grove Line Stars United Football Club are now beaming following the completion of a major community project.
The club collaborated with the USA Chapter of the Ann’s Grove Relief Association (AGRA) and completed phase one of the rehabilitation of street lighting for several areas including Dochfour, Ann’s Grove and Friends, all sections of Beehive Village. The facility now sports a football field, basketball court, futsal court and the clubhouse.
The facility costs approximately US$500 and President of the AGRA Line Stars United Football Club, Trevor Waterman was vested with the responsibility of managing the fund as well as overseeing the completion of the project.
A further donation of US$5,000 was handed over by other interest groups and would cater for the establishment of the Ann’s Grove Community Centre of Excellence. Among some of the pressing issues targeted by the committee are, the installation of lights to facilitate night football matches as well as seating accommodation.
Added to this sum is a further $3.5M donated by the government to facilitate filling and fencing of the ground. President of the AGRA, Trevor Waterman is indeed grateful for such timely assistance and is expressing heartfelt thanks to the contributors.
Among those receiving favourable commendations are the President and Secretary of the USA Chapter of the AGRA, Clarence Rodrigues and Arthur Nurse, respectively.
