Good Success, Sans Souci and Noitgedacht recorded victories as the Busta 40 over cricket competition continued last Sunday in Wakenaam.
At Zeelandia, Good Success defeated the host by 8 wickets. Medium pacer Wazir Khan who took 5-30, Nazeer Mohamed 3-10 and Chandreka Ragnauth 2-20, restricted Zeelandia who batted first to 144 all out in 23 overs. National U-15 player Ricardo Adams top scored with 29 while Dharmendra Pooran made 28.
The visitors in reply scored 148-2 in 25 overs. Ragnauth led with 80 (5×4, 4×60 and Shamsudeen Mohamed contributed 20 as their team won the game with 15 overs to spare.
At the Wakenaam Community Centre Ground, Sans Souci overcame arch rivals Sans Souci Jaguars by 39 runs. Sans Souci took first strike and managed 159 all out in 36 overs.
Ceon Venture was their leading run getter with 36 while Faheem Azweem assisted with 16 and Varounie Sasepaul 15 as left arm spinner Moin Khan snared 4-25 and Nokta Moses 3-20.
The Jaguars in reply were bowled out for 120 in 30 overs. Openers Gladwyn Henry made 38 and Charles Benjamin 26 to gave their team an opening stand of 68 before they collapsed for their eventual total. Sasepaul, Vickram Ramnarine, Azweem and Venture took two wickets each for the winners.
And at Noitgedacht, the host got the better of Maria’s Pleasure by 9 wickets. The visitors batted first and were skittled out for 77 in 16 overs. National female pacer Althea Newark bagged 4-15, Anthony Osborne 2-20 and Ahmad Khan 2-12 for Noitgedacht who responded with 78-1 in 17 overs. Nigel Coggins stroked 47.
