Football fans were a mite disappointed following the abortion of one match and the further lackluster performance of both teams in the other when action continued in the Ansa McAl East Coast Football league at the Georgetown Football Club Ground, Thursday evening last.
The match between Ann’s Grove and Plaisance was called off after the latter team arrived at the venue way past the stipulated time. The organizers decided to award a win by walk over to Ann’s Grove even after the Plaisance team arrived for the engagement.
The other match between Mahaica Determinators and Golden Star FC ended on a 1-1 draw. Jason Hall netted in the 18th minute for Golden Grove while Colin Peters equalized in the 60th minute for the Determinators.
The former team now leads the points standing with 9 points from 4 games while Ann’s Grove is second with 8 points, also from 4 games. Buxton Stars occupy the third place slot with 7 points from 4 games.
