LBI defeated Windsor Forest 57 runs when play in the F&H Printing Establishment sponsored Muslim Youth Organisation (MYO) of Guyana 10 overs Inter-Jamaat Softball round robin round hand cricket competition got underway last Sunday at the MYO ground, Woolford Avenue.
LBI batted first and rattled up an imposing 150-1 off their allotted 10 overs. Zaman Ally led the way with 63* and found able support in Fizul Ally who stroked 35 and Javed Campbell 23*.
Shafeeul Hack picked up the only wicket to fall for 12 runs off his 2 overs as Windsor Forest in reply were limited to 93-5.
Hack returned with the bat to hit the top score of 28. Bowling for LBI, Abdel Khan and Asif Mohammed each took 2 wickets with Javed Campbell taking the other.
Play will continue at eh same venue on Sunday with 5 matches.
From 09:00hrs De Edward oppose MYO, Farm B play Cornelia Ida from 10:30hrs, De Edward come up against Land of Canaan from noon while from 13:30hrs Mohammed’s XI engage Providence and from 15:00hrs, Queenstown face off with Mocha Arcadia.
