Dear Editor,
On 20th October, 2009, the Ministry of Home Affairs published “Guidelines for the conduct of members of the Traffic Department of the Guyana Police Force on duty”
The third item in that notice states, “Traffic tickets are to be issued to errant drivers for minor offences. Vehicles should not be detained for minor offences”
However the notice did not state what are considered minor traffic offences. I would be grateful for the authorities to publish in a future notice what are minor traffic offences.
This information would benefit a great number of drivers as there are not only “Rogue Cops” in the CID department specialising in torture, but also in Traffic. I can assure you that many drivers will testify to the above statement.
Concerned Driver
