Man dies after losing control of car

A father of five died in another road accident after returning from relatives early yesterday morning.
Clarence Perry, 40, of 241 BB Eccles East Bank Demerara died after he lost control of his car that ran off the public road at Diamond, East Bank Demerara.
According to his wife, Abiola Perry, her husband was returning from his relatives. She admitted that he was imbibing but she could not say why and how he lost control of his car. He was pulled from the vehicle by residents in the area and rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he died about one hour later.
According to his wife, he was the sole breadwinner and his death is a major blow to the family.
Clarence Perry worked on a fishing vessel as a captain and had recently returned from the high seas to be with his family. The woman said they had been married for the pass seven years and she has two small children that her husband cared for.
At the man’s Eccles residence the family was in shock. One of his elder daughters was inconsolable.
The accident comes on the heels of another early Friday morning accident on the Rupert Craig Highway that claimed the life of a female soldier.
