The Guyana Badminton Association junior drive, which has been targeting schools, again took place, this time at the ABC Academy on New Market Street.
Demonstrations of the Basic Rules and on court play were done along with some verbal explanations to the students. A GBA release said, “It was very good to see the interest shown by the students who witness the demonstrations.”
The Students were introduced to basic play including serves, and movements on the court.
Shuttlecocks, Badminton Net, Rackets and DVDs on Badminton were also handed out to the school to help with the development of the game and continuous play.
The presentation took place on the Schools Court with the GBA President Gokarn Ramdhani handing out the Gear to Teachers Esther Sobers and Debra Singh who received them on behalf of the School.
Also present were the excited Students and Principal, Mr. Arthur Chandra.
Meanwhile, the GBA will be running off its Bi-Annual General Meeting December 5, 2009. All registered Clubs are asked to send two representatives.
