Dear Editor,
As a parent of children, I was heartened to see that unlike President Jagdeo and Minister Manickchand, the Americans took the time to listen, form an opinion and react accordingly.
When the story appeared on the news as a curious or as some would say “fast” Guyanese, I went online and listened to the almost 24 minutes recording and being no expert but from having heard Mr. McCoy on TV, I formed the opinion that indeed that it is his voice and from the nature of the conversation it would have been very hard for someone to take recordings of Mr. McCoy’s voice and splice the tape to create that recording especially the part where Mr. McCoy is sobbing.
On a different note, I must applaud that brave and conscious person who enabled Kaieteur News to have the picture of that tortured child also the entire staff and management of Kaieteur News, I pray that God gave that child, his parents and the management and staff of Kaieteur News the fortitude and courage to continue the good work.
