The accident on the Alliance Public Road has now left pedestrian Geewan Singh clinging to life.
According to a police report Singh, in a company of five others, was walking on the Richmond Public Road, when Singh was struck from behind.
He sustained severe injuries and had to be picked up by his friends who rushed him to the Suddie Public Hospital where his condition is now listed as critical.
It was revealed that the white car that was involved in the accident was not identified at the time.
According to the investigating ranks, Seemangal subsequently went home after the accident and told his father Roopnarine about the accident.
It was also revealed that Roopnarine Seemangal, subsequently took the damaged car to a body repair shop at Columbia to replace the windscreen, rear view mirror and tinted sun visor, as well as to spray the damaged vehicle.
Body repair was done on the vehicle the said night.
The refurbished vehicle was recovered and seized from a private hire car driver, at La Belle Alliance.
This later led to the arrest of both father and son.
