The Management, Staff and Members of the Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club has offered congratulations to four of the club’s members on their selection to the National Senior Cricket Team for the regional one day tournament in Guyana.
In a release, the club stated, “We are very proud that a club which was only formed in 1990 can have four of its members in the national team and we are confident that their performances would be of the highest standard.”
“The club salutes Esaun Crandon, Assad Fudadin, Royston Crandon and Delbert Hicks on the selection and we urge them to remain focus on the club’s formula for success – discipline, hard work, dedication and faith in God. What is of much satisfaction to the Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club is that all four of these players have developed via our inter-team system from the Under-15 level to the Senior level and that alone speak volume of our inter-cricket programme. This programme has been very successful over the years and together with our other self development programmes ensured that all products of the club are not only proper cricketers but also positive role models on and off the cricket field.”
“The club would like to acknowledge the support of its numerous sponsors who have made this moment possible especially Farfan and Mendes, Bakewell, DDL Pepsi, GT&T Cellink and Windies Sports Bar who have all sponsored teams which the four players have played for during their careers. We are creating opportunities for youths whose dreams would have remained unfulfilled if you did not support the club and together we must be doing everything right because at this same moment two female cricketers of the club’s Metro team are representing the West Indies in South Africa.
The club would like to extend best wishes to the Management, captain and players of the National Cricket Team and wish them success in the tournament. With players of the caliber of our four members, Sarwan, Chanderpaul, Deonarine and Chattergoon we are confident that the home team would lift the trophy after the finals.
“Finally the Club would like to express congrats to the Albion Cricket Club on winning the National 2009 Neal and Massy 40-Over Title recently. Despite the fact that they defeated us in the finals, we are proud that the Title was won by a Berbice team. We are happy to be second best to a club which has a proud tradition of being among the best in Guyana and it is our hope that the relationship between the two clubs would be strengthened and expanded as we seek to make God’s world a better place.”
