Two Essequibians out of five other winners were yesterday declared winners in the second draw in the Fernleaf “Get Ready to be a winner competition “.
Rabeena Rajcoomar, a teacher by profession, and also of Cotton Field, Essequibo Coast; and Shevon France, of Grant Dublin, Lower Pomeroon River walked away with US$500 each.
Both winners who purchased Fernleaf milk at Safeway Super Market and vendor Toolsie Ram, who operates at the Charity, Anna Regina and Suddie markets, respectively beamed with excitement after learning about their win
Both winners said they never expected to win and as such would use the extra needed incentive wisely.
Supermarket owner, Iftikar Mohamed, and Toolsie Ram, the vendors also each received US$500.
Present at the presentation was Fernleaf branch manager, Stuart May, who said that it was good to see Essequibians winning.
May also said that Fernleaf takes its operation on Essequibo very seriously and as such the company always likes to give back.
In the first draw which began on October 7, Kameshwar Ram, Jennifer Alphonso, and Savitri Singh were declared winners. The latter two were from West Demerara.
The final draw which is also said to be the biggest will be made on December 16, 2009.
Both France and Rajcoomar who spoke with this newspaper said they were always purchasing Fernleaf even before they would have entered the competition.
