Three more Essequibo businessmen were robbed over the weekend. One suffered losses of two bags containing an undisclosed amount of cash, while another was relieved of cash, amounting to over $500,000.
Kassim Bacchus, a tailor, and the third victim, suffered losses of almost $15,000.
Looknauth Jaggernauth, a\k, Johnnie, a businessman, who resides and operates two stalls at the Charity market, told this newspaper that both bags containing an undisclosed amount of cash was discovered missing shortly after he and his wife, Irene Ramlall, returned at their Charity home, after attending the popular Essequibo Night, last Saturday.
Jaggernauth said that he returned home shortly after 23:00 hours and found one of the grills that is attached to a window behind of his house, pried apart. He said that he immediately realized that something was amiss and declined to enter into the house.
He however said he subsequently ventured to the police station at Charity where a report was made.
According to Jaggernauth he said detectives accompanied him back home where the loss was discovered.
Godfrey Stoll, who also spoke with Kaieteur News today, like Jaggernauth attended Essequibo Night. He said that upon his return home at his Charity home, upon entering the premise he noticed five louvers panes missing from one of the windows at the back of the house.
The businessman who operates a bakery as well as a snackette, at Charity, said he returned home during the wee hours of Sunday morning round minutes and found the cash that was set aside to offset his business, gone. Stoll said a canister also containing cash was missing.
Like Jaggernauth, Stoll lodged a complaint at the Charity police station, but to date no one has been apprehended for the series of robberies that occurred simultaneously on the Essequibo Coast.
Stoll said that he was robbed almost seven years ago.
Almost two weeks ago the home of Headmistress of the Anna Regina Secondary School house was broken and entered by unknown people who carted off with an undisclosed sum of cash and jewelery.
Drupattie Zulbakar of New Road lost valuables totaling over $900,000.
More recently Thakurdeen Khatun and his wife Ramwattie, of Land of Plenty, were beaten and robbed of an estimated $8 million in gold and diamond jewelery
