Tarrick Seemangal, 24, of La Belle Alliance, Essequibo Coast, is in police custody awaiting charges that are likely to be laid against him, after he was involve in a hit and run accident on Saturday last, at the La Belle Alliance Public Road.
The accident has left pedestrian, Geewan Singh, clinging for life.
According to police report, Geewan Singh in the company of five others was walking on the Richmond Public Road, heading north when Singh was struck from behind.
He was knocked unconscious.
His friends, who rushed him to the Suddie Public hospital where his condition is now listed as critical, picked up Singh who sustained severe injuries to his hand foot and legs.
According to the police Seemangal went home after the accident and told his parents about the accident.
His father, Roopnarine Seemangal, subsequently took the damaged car to a body repair shop at Columbia to replace the windscreen, review mirror, tint sun visor and to spray over the damaged vehicle.
These repairs were done on the vehicle that said night but the refurbished vehicle was recovered and seized from a private hire car driver, at La Belle Alliance.
This later led to the arrest of both father and son who are said to be cooperating fully with the police.
