– Aiming for top podium spot
Tired of playing bridesmaid, Group 3 competitor Kamal Seebarran in an interview with Kaieteur Sport disclosed that he is aiming to go one step better this time around.
Seebarran, who drives a Third Generation Mazda RX7, said that over the past couple years he has had to settle for the minor podium spots, reckoning that this November 8 Race Meeting at the South Dakota Circuit has to be a defining moment in his career.
To this end, the senior Seebarran revealed that he has recently installed a new engine which was recently acquired and will be testing its reliability very shortly.
He exuded confidence during the interview, stating that their preparations are geared entirely on securing the top spot.
“I’m always knocking on the door over the past two years, but I intend to go a step further this time, having been hovering around the second and third positions,” Seebarran mentioned.
He added that the time is long overdue for him to upstage his rivals mainly Ryan Rahaman, Ravi Singh out of Trinidad and Tobago, Gavin Gayadin and Kem Lall among others.
Seebarran indicated that with the acquisition of the new engine, he feels that the car will perform much better and will be much faster.
No stranger to success, Seebarran was crowned Group champion on at least five previous occasions, but thinks that there is some amount of urgency to get back to registering such outstanding performances.
He is adamant that he will be challenging the opposition for top honours.
