Contrary to what was published in last week Thursday’s Edition of this newspaper, Robbie Singh, proprietor of Movie Town Video Club, was not the individual who appeared in court to answer a charge of robbery.
In the robbery case which was heard by Magistrate Melissa Robertson at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, the perpetrator was in fact Vickram Persaud of D’Abreu Street, Newtown, Georgetown.
It is alleged that Persaud, armed with a gun, on September 30 last, robbed Rondell Albert at his business place of a large quantity of merchandise valued at $16M.
However, according to the facts presented in the court, Persaud before being arrested had sold a projector valued at $1M to Singh, who was also charged and placed on $200,000 bail for receiving stolen property.
