A 15-year-old boy was severely chopped by his sister’s ex-boyfriend, yesterday afternoon.
Dexter Forde, of 35 West Ruimveldt Housing Scheme, is now a patient at the Georgetown Public Hospital with wounds to the head and hands. Speaking with Kaieteur News yesterday, Forde’s sister, Juanita, said that she was home when she heard the loud commotion in the yard. She explained that she had recently broken off a relationship with the suspect, whom she named.
The visibly shaken woman said that although they had finished the relationship, her aunt allowed the suspect to stay at her house.
“My aunt told him he could stay after he told us that he didn’t have anywhere to go,” she explained. Her aunt’s home is the second house in the same yard. Forde said that on Saturday she and the suspect had a scuffle after he attacked her. She said that her mother immediately told him that he needed to find somewhere else to live.
Forde opined that the suspect may have attacked her brother because he was teasing him.
“Dexter was teasing him about what happened on Saturday and he get angry and chop me brother”.
She further said that she also fears for her life since the suspect has threatened to kill her.
Her brother, up to press time was about to be taken to the X-ray department, he was also receiving intravenous drips. The assailant who hails from Berbice was on the run up to press time last night.
