A 33-year-old man was yesterday afternoon rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital after he was chopped about his body.
The man who was identified as Dave Evans, of 169 Middle Road, La Penitence, sustained two gaping wounds to his hands.
This newspaper understands that the man was in Saffon Street, Charlestown, when a heated argument with the suspect ensued.
The suspect, according to eyewitnesses, whipped out a cutlass and chopped Evans, then fled.
Evans who was bleeding profusely was rushed to the hospital.
Up to press time the suspect had not been apprehended. Meanwhile, doctors at the hospital were trying to stop the bleeding.
The police are investigating the matter.
