Thirty-one-year-old woodcutter and part time mason, Clyde Hanover, of Good Hope, Mahaicony was on Friday remanded to prison by Magistrate Taejnarine Ramroop when he appeared before him at the Kwakwani Magistrate’s Court, charged with the murder of Howard Bovell. Bovell, of Retrieve, Linden had his throat slashed on September 22 at a Linderville Aroraima, Berbice night spot.
On that night Bovell was celebrating his reputed wife’s birthday.
He succumbed at the Linden Hospital Complex shortly after arriving there with a gaping wound to the neck.
Bovell was allegedly attacked after he reportedly reprimanded the suspect for interfering with his reputed wife.
Hanover had fled the scene and was subsequently arrested during a police manhunt.
Attorney at Law Ramesh Rajkumar made an appearance for Hanover and asked for an early trial.
The accused was not required to plea and was remanded to jail until November 20 when the preliminary inquiry is expected to resume.
