Three East Coast Demerara villages—Industry, Cummings Lodge and Ogle, have teamed up to organize two days of sports activities dubbed, ‘Big Day of Sports’ and scheduled to get underway on Sunday. Activities get underway at 09:00hrs each day.
The sides would engage in a 6 overs, tape and softball cricket matches and the winners are guaranteed $60,000 and a trophy. The runners-up carts off half of that amount, also with a trophy. The registration fee is $10,000 per team.
There would also be a 7 aside football knockout tournament that guarantees the winner $40,000 and a trophy. The runners up collects $20,000 and a trophy. Registration fee is $5,000 per team. The organizers have also planned a King and Queen, winner take all dominoes tournament. The entrance fee for this tournament is $6,000 per team.
The organizers are asking all teams to complete registration for the respective disciplines by this afternoon by contacting Mr. Benson Gomes on 673-6778.
